The Job in a Nutshell:

The Head Cashier is responsible for the successful operation of the front end, including cashiering, training, directing, and monitoring cashiers, providing world-class customer service, and supporting overall store operations.

Responsibilities

1. Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive customer experience.
2. Training cashiers and overseeing their performance.
3. Communicating store programs and policies to customers.
4. Handling cashier duties, including issuing cash drawers, processing returns, and managing overrides.
5. Addressing customer complaints appropriately.
6. Maintaining the front end area, including set displays and stock rotation.
7. Participating in store tasks such as tagging, facing, cleaning, and stocking.
8. Working a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a 40-hour workweek.
9. Supporting the limited Manager on Duty role as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail, especially grocery or natural foods, preferred.
• At least 1 year of cashiering experience and supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to pass food safety training and certifications.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
