Qualifications

• Coaching experience at high school or college level.
• CPR and First Aid training completed or in progress.
• Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Prefer Virginia Teaching License candidate or full-time classified employee for LCPS.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high academic standards for student athletes.
• Assist athletic director and principal in hiring/retention of assistant coaches.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches.
• Work with athletic director to ensure proper insurance coverage for athletes.
• Collaborate with other head coaches to operate a well-balanced athletic program.
• Foster sportsmanship and pride in team, school, and community.
• Direct training, conditioning, and performance of varsity team; supervise staff.
• Be present at varsity contests and support JV/freshman contests when possible.
• Advise on schedules, official selection/evaluations, and equipment/facility needs.
• Recruit and develop staff roles (equipment manager, scorekeeper, etc.).
• Maintain records, statistics, and photos for athletic teams.
