Job summary

Propel Schools is seeking a Head Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Coach for the 2026/2027 season at Propel Andrew Street High School/Propel Braddock Hills High School. The role involves coaching JV players, collaborating with the athletic director, and ensuring compliance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.

Qualified candidates will have JV/ varsity coaching experience, ability to build a program, strong organization, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience.
• Head coach or assistant coach experience with playing background and program-building ability.
• Support JV program with athletic director and staff.
• Experience implementing off-season programs per WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Attend PIAA preseason meetings and trainings per regulations.
• High level of personal organization and planning.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

Head Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Coach - 2026/2027

Propel Schools is seeking an Head Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season starting this winter:

• Propel Andrew Street High School/Propel Braddock Hills High School

Successful candidates will have:

• Prior Varsity or Junior Varsity coaching experience
• Preferred candidates will have experience as a head coach or assistant coach, playing experience, as well as the demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the junior varsity level
• Responsibility for supporting the Junior Varsity program with the athletic director and other coaching staff
• Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
• Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations.
• High level of personal organization and planning
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development

Season Information:

• The 2026-2027 Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Season is scheduled to in November and is anticipated to conclude in February, although the season may end earlier/later depending on if the team participates in postseason.
• This position includes a seasonal stipend of $6,000. Please note that the stipend will be prorated for coaches who begin after the official start of the season.

Requirements:

• Up-to-date TB Test
• Act 34 Criminal Clearance
• Act 114 FBI Clearance
• Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
• Mandated Reporter Training
