Nickerson High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our baseball program as Head Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position is responsible for developing student‑athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and competitive environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baseball, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the academic and athletic growth of our players.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of baseball techniques, strategies, and rules; KSHSAA certifications.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate student‑athletes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans that enhance players' skills and teamwork.
• Conduct tryouts and select team members based on skill, attitude, and potential.
• Organize and manage all aspects of the baseball program, including scheduling games and transportation.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, and academics.
• Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration.
• Monitor and support student‑athletes' academic performance.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the athletic program.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure compliance with school policies, league rules, and safety regulations.
• Organize fundraising and community outreach activities to support the program.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of baseball techniques, strategies, and rules. Obtain KSHSAA certifications.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A valid driver's license and the ability to transport players to events as needed.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all players.

Must pass a background check, physical, and TB test.
