Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group in Phoenix seeks a Head Athletic Trainer to lead a team of athletic trainers, provide expert care to student-athletes, and ensure compliance with state athletic training laws and hospital policies.

You will collaborate with physicians, schools, and families, oversee concussion protocols and return-to-play decisions, and travel for away events as needed while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training from an accredited program; 1 year of athletic training experience.
• AZ licensure as Athletic Trainer.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with head/associate athletic trainers to provide services to partnered school districts.
• Assist in providing home and away event coverage (travel required) and athletic training room hours.
• Develop and administer a comprehensive sports medicine program with partners and schools.
• Coordinate with physicians, school staff, and families per FERPA/HIPAA.
• Oversee concussion management procedures and return-to-play protocols.
• Provide athletic training services for competitions and communicate with visiting teams.
