Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a Head Athletic Trainer to lead comprehensive athletic training services for student-athletes under physician direction and in compliance with state practice acts. You will oversee a team of athletic trainers and coordinate care across partnered schools, with travel for events as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training education from an accredited program
• Athletic Trainer: AZ licensure or eligibility
• American Heart Association BLS certification required or equivalent
• Board Certification as an Athletic Trainer preferred/required by some sites

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with head/associate athletic trainers to deliver services at partnered schools
• Assist in providing coverage for home and away events (travel required) and athletic training room hours
• Develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medicine program with partners and schools
• Liaise with physicians, school staff, administrators, coaches, athletes and families under FERPA and HIPAA guidelines
• Oversee concussion management procedures including baseline and post-injury testing and return-to-play decisions
• Provide athletic training services for events and communicate with visiting athletic healthcare teams
