Job summary

InterCon Construction is seeking an HDD Superintendent to supervise and perform skilled work with horizontal directional drilling across oil and gas transmission projects. You will oversee daily HDD crew operations, emphasize safety, and coordinate with customers, officials, and subcontractors.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, HDD experience, a valid driver's license (CDL preferred), and knowledge of underground transmission systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience with HDD operations.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good, clean driving record. CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in construction and maintenance of underground oil/gas transmission systems.
• Fundamental understanding of safety regulations, OSHA regulations, first aid, and resuscitation methods.
• Knowledge of local and state regulations, rules, specifications, and operating practices.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and written instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
• Consistent travel required throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of HDD crew safety and efficiency.
• Monitor, direct, and participate in all duties of the HDD crew.
• Meet with customers, local officials, locating services, and subcontractors to coordinate the project.
• Conduct daily safety tailgate briefings.
• Procure and arrange for materials for timely and efficient delivery.
• Maintain daily company records (material and time) and provide them to the company and/or customer.
• Promote safety practices and maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are maintained and kept clean.
• Ensure proper tooling is available for drills on the job site.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
• Other duties as assigned.
