Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with HDD operations, fluid systems, drilling fluids and bits
• Knowledge of drilling contaminants, additives, and mud treatment
• CDL or valid driver's license preferred
• Knowledge of underground oil/gas transmission systems work practices
• Understanding of safety/OSHA regulations and first aid
• Knowledge of local/state regulations and operating practices
• Ability to read plans and written instructions
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Consistent travel across the United States

Responsibilities

• Control the technology to prepare the drilling mud
• Monitor the drilling fluid mud cleaning system
• Assist in optimization of flushing fluids and cleaning equipment
• Recommend optimal operating modes for cleaning stages
• Ensure biopolymer fluid parameters align with work plans
• Recommend drilling fluid treatment with reagents
• Recommend replacement of drilling fluid to maintain properties
• Ensure compliance with labor discipline and safety regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of information
• Minimize waste from draining fluids
• Collaborate with drilling engineers to reduce costs
• Measure mud quantities at all stages
• Assist technicians during drilling
• Provide input in drill-bit selection
• Other duties as assigned
