Job summary

ITG Communications, LLC is seeking a Drill Operator to operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment for conduit, fiber, or utility installations. You will read construction plans, locate utilities, mark underground services, and maintain equipment while ensuring safety in varied conditions.

The role requires 1–3 years of HDD experience or equivalent training, high school diploma, and ability to work outdoors in diverse weather with team collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years of directional drilling experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to read construction plans and understand underground utility locates.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling rigs and support equipment to install underground utilities according to project specifications.
• Read and interpret construction prints, locate utilities, and mark underground services accurately.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
• Ensure proper placement of conduit using bore logs and tracking systems.
• Collaborate with field crews to set up equipment, mix drilling fluid, and pull back conduit or pipe.
• Maintain accurate records of bore lengths, depths, and site conditions.
• Adhere to all company and regulatory safety procedures and requirements.
• Assist with potholing, locating, trenching, or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Work in various terrain and weather conditions while maintaining productivity and quality.
