Job summary

Northwest Tire in Bemidji, MN is seeking a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic to diagnose and repair HD trucks and trailers. The role includes preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and servicing brakes, suspension, steering, and alignments.

You will use diagnostic tools, maintain records, and work with tire and lube techs. Must have own tools; competitive benefits; schedule typically Monday–Friday, with some overtime and room for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Must be at least 18 years of age; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HD trucks and trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Complete repairs on brakes, suspension, steering systems, alignments, and other mechanicals.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Communicate clearly with team members and customers.
• Assist tire and lube techs between bigger jobs.
