Job summary

AeroVect, based in Atlanta, seeks a Mapping Engineer to own the creation and validation of high-definition maps for autonomous tractors. You will work hands-on on-site, coordinating map requests from intake through deployment.

You'll edit HD maps using JOSM and Lanelet2/OpenStreetMap data, submit PRs, and validate changes in simulation and on the tractor in Atlanta. A career starter role with training, focused on rigor and ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• Strong attention to detail and a safety-minded approach to repetitive, high-stakes work.
• Experience with Git and PR/code-review workflows.
• Basic scripting with Python and Linux command line.
• Clear written communication and ability to keep a request queue organized.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Atlanta and on-site work responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Own the mapping request queue end to end: intake, clarify requirements, scope work, and communicate status through to completion.
• Create and edit HD maps (lanes, intersections, routes, regulatory elements, goal poses) using JOSM and Lanelet2/OpenStreetMap data model.
• Submit map changes as pull requests and run Map CI validation and path-feasibility checks.
• Validate changes in simulation first, then test on the tractor in Atlanta.
• Capture evidence (videos, test results, diffs) and document testing results.
• Maintain map hygiene—pruning duplicates, consistent naming/versioning, scalable processes.
• Coordinate with external mapping vendors for large-scale deliveries.
