Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking Mapping Specialists in Sunnyvale to create and refine high-definition maps for autonomous vehicles. You will digitize road networks from lidar data, imagery, and geospatial inputs, applying stringent mapping specifications to ensure accuracy and consistency.

You will collaborate with software engineers using Git, Jira, and Google Docs/Sheets, and contribute to multiple revision cycles in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in map creation and maintenance in AV GIS or 3D game design
• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• Strong understanding of lane-level geometry at CM precision
• Experience with point clouds or lidar-based annotation tools
• Attention to detail with strict digitization protocols
• Comfortable with repetitive, accuracy-focused tasks
• Remote, asynchronous work readiness

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain HD maps for L4 autonomous vehicle operations
• Digitize road network geometry from lidar point clouds, high-resolution imagery, and other geospatial inputs
• Apply detailed mapping specifications for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Contribute to multiple revision cycles based on internal criteria
• Triage, troubleshoot, and root cause map-related issues
• Provide structured feedback to improve tools, workflows, and mappings
• Collaborate with software engineers using Git, GitHub, Jira, Google Docs/Sheets and Slack
