Job summary

AeroVect Technologies Inc. is hiring a Mapping Engineer to own HD map creation and validation for autonomous ground operations. This on-site role in Atlanta involves end-to-end handling of mapping requests, from intake to deployment, using JOSM and Lanelet2/OpenStreetMap data models.

You will validate changes in simulation and on the tractor, coordinate with autonomy and test engineers, and ensure map hygiene and scalable processes. Training will be provided, with emphasis on rigor and ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Geomatics/Robotics/Engineering
• Strong attention to detail with a safety-minded approach to high-stakes work
• Familiar with Git and PR/code-review workflows
• Basic Python scripting and Linux command-line proficiency
• Ownership mindset with clear written communication and organized queue management
• Willingness to be based in/relocate to Atlanta and work on-site
• Experience with mapping or GIS tools (JOSM, OpenStreetMap) preferred

Responsibilities

• Own the mapping request queue from intake to completion.
• Create and edit HD maps using JOSM and Lanelet tooling.
• Submit map changes as PRs through the map repository with Map CI validation.
• Validate every change in simulation and on the tractor in Atlanta.
• Capture evidence and document testing results.
• Maintain map hygiene, naming/versioning consistency, and scalable processes.
• Coordinate with external mapping vendors for large-scale map deliveries.
