Job summary

PlusAI, a Silicon Valley-based Physical AI company, is seeking a Principal Engineer for Mapping and Localization to design high-fidelity fusion algorithms that combine LiDAR, Radar, Camera, IMU, and GNSS with HD maps to achieve centimeter-level accuracy. • 7+ years of industry experience in robotics, with at least 4 years dedicated to production-level localization or mapping systems.
• Expert-level Modern C++ (14/17/20) skills, memory management, multi-threading, real-time systems.
• Strong probabilistic robotics foundation: Kalman Filtering, SLAM, handling 3D geometry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of localization architecture with roadmaps.
• Design and implement real-time sensor fusion, odometry, and global localization.
• Develop HD map pipelines and change-detection for map maintenance.
