Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking a technical lead to drive the day-to-day operations of our HD mapping team in Sunnyvale.

You will own the production schedule, triage map and data issues, and align mapping specialists with software engineering and field operations to optimize AV stack performance. You will lead a team in high-throughput workflows, emphasize technical judgment, and maintain clear priorities in a startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant field
• 3+ years in HD map production or similar autonomous-vehicle data ops
• Experience leading or coordinating a technical team
• Strong understanding of HD map data formats and annotation pipelines
• Experience with point clouds, 3D visualization, or LiDAR tools
• Familiarity with simulation environments (CARLA, LGSVL, etc.)
• Experience analyzing field reports or sensor data for map quality
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, C++, and GIS tools; AI skills a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication; calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mapping specialists; set priorities and production schedules
• Own weekly and sprint-level production calendar for mapping new areas and map quality improvements
• Run daily standups and triage sessions; manage blockers and re-prioritize work
• Mentor specialists; conduct technical reviews and set map QC standards
• Serve as escalation point for map data issues across production, validation, and downstream teams
• Create a triage playbook to classify and resolve issues quickly
• Coordinate with engineers to validate HD map accuracy in simulation environments
• Close feedback loop with operations and safety teams to improve coverage and quality
