Job summary

Brazos‑Valley Council of Governments in Bryan, TX is seeking a Housing & Self‑Sufficiency Program Coordinator I. The role supports HCV participants through case management, counseling, and program oversight to help families achieve financial independence while meeting federal performance standards.

Responsibilities include managing FSS plans, preparing documentation, coordinating payments and inspections, and ensuring compliance with HUD rules and BVCOG policies.

Qualifications

• Associates required but preference will be given for bachelor’s degree or higher degree with college coursework in social work, sociology, or related field.
• At least two (2) years of experience in customer service, social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
• Bilingual speaker and writer in English and Spanish preferred.
• Must have valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor FSS participants’ self-sufficiency plans with clear, measurable, and achievable goals.
• Provide continuous case management and counseling, ensuring participants fulfill FSS Contracts and Individual Training and Service Plans.
• Establish and maintain escrow accounts for eligible FSS participants.
• Coordinate program workshops, self-sufficiency activities, and orientations for applicants.
• Coordinate Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) processing and landlord communications.
• Assist with eligibility interviews and documentation per HUD requirements.
