Job summary

Aurora Housing Authority - Colorado is seeking an Administrative Specialist in the Assisted Housing Department to support audits, SEMAP documentation, data reporting, and interagency liaison work with HUD and local partners.

The role requires five years of Section 8 housing experience, strong math and computer skills, and the ability to work independently in a regulated government environment.

Qualifications

• HUD regulations and Fair Housing Laws knowledge.
• Excellent judgment and decision making skills.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as percentages, ratios and rates.
• Proficiency with 10-key calculator and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum five years experience as Housing Specialist in a Section 8 program, or equivalent.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Colorado Driver License and Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Audit department files to ensure accuracy and compliance; develop corrective action plans.
• Coordinate SEMAP and PIC data collection and maintenance.
• Serve as Department liaison with HUD, OIG, Colorado Legal Services and other partners.
• Prepare reports and presentations; respond to program questions and guidance requests.
• Assist in implementing agency policies and procedures and training staff.
