HCM Database Analyst (Hybrid — San Bernardino, CA)

Contract Term: 6 Months to 1 year (W-2 Only)

Clearance/Status: U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only. No C2C. No H1B sponsorship.

Location Requirement: Must reside in or commute to San Bernardino, CA (Hybrid Schedule)

About the Role:

A public-sector organization is seeking an experienced contract Database Analyst. The candidate will participate in systems analysis, systems design, database design, and the creation of an Autonomous Database (ADB) in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The contractor will be assigned to the Human Capital Management (HCM) team and will collaborate closely with internal IT stakeholders, Human Resources, and Oracle to support the implementation of a new Human Capital Management (HCM) system.

The position requires experience with Oracle databases and Windows operating environments. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills and stay current with emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with internal stakeholders and the Oracle implementation team to create an Autonomous Database (ADB) in the Oracle Cloud.
• Ensure data integrity within the Autonomous Database.
• Help configure, implement, and manage Oracle GoldenGate.

Skills and Qualifications:

• OCI Cloud Database Services: Comprehensive knowledge of provisioning and managing Oracle Base Database Services (VMs/Bare Metal), Oracle Exadata Database Service, and Oracle Autonomous Database (ATP and ADW).
• Cloud Architecture & Networking:Mastery of OCI-specific cloud configurations, including Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), Security Lists, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Compartments, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) policies.
• Migration Frameworks:Expertise in migrating legacy or on-premises databases to the cloud using Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), Oracle Data Pump, or real-time replication through Oracle GoldenGate.
• Automation & Orchestration:Proven experience with automation using Cloud SDKs, OCI CLI, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or OCI Resource Manager.
• Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and environments.
• Oracle Database Management:Proficiency in administering and maintaining Oracle Database 19c and later versions.
• Developer Collaboration: Collaborate with application developers to design and build primary storage structures and schema objects based on application requirements. Resolve technical conflicts as needed.
• Maintenance and Support:Manage maintenance activities, perform software updates, and work with developers and Oracle Support to resolve technical issues.
• Backup and Recovery: Strong knowledge of Oracle RMAN backup and recovery using Commvault.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a closely related field, and at least five (5) years of experience working with HCM, PeopleSoft, JavaScript libraries, SQL, and SQR. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
