Job summary

CAI in San Bernardino, CA seeks an Oracle Database Analyst to support OCI-based deployments, HCM migrations, and Autonomous Database environments.

You will design, deploy, and optimize Oracle Database Services, manage RMAN backups, and collaborate with developers, HR, and Oracle support teams. Hybrid work in Southern California with 5+ years of Oracle DB experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience provisioning and managing Oracle Cloud Database Services.
• Strong understanding of OCI architecture and security.
• Experience migrating databases to Oracle Cloud using ZDM/Data Pump/GoldenGate.
• Automation/IaC experience using OCI CLI, Terraform, or Resource Manager.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database 19c or later.
• Experience administering Oracle databases in Windows.
• Knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery methodologies.
• Collaborative with developers, stakeholders and Oracle support teams.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are looking for an Oracle Database Analyst to support the implementation of a new Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This position will be a contract and hybrid in San Bernardino, CA . Due to the specific legal and contractual requirements associated with this position, this role will be direct employment with CAI. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

What You’ll Do

• Participate in systems analysis, systems design, database design, and the creation of an Autonomous Database (ADB) environment in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Partner with IT, Human Resources, and Oracle implementation teams to support the deployment of a new HCM platform
• Provision, configure, and manage Oracle Cloud Database Services, including Autonomous Database, Exadata, and Base Database Services
• Ensure database performance, security, integrity, and availability within OCI environments
• Support database migrations from legacy or on-premises environments using Oracle Data Pump, Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), and Oracle GoldenGate
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using OCI CLI, SDKs, Terraform, or OCI Resource Manager
• Collaborate with application developers to design and build database schema objects and storage structures
• Perform database maintenance, troubleshooting, software updates, backup, recovery, and performance tuning activities
• Manage Oracle RMAN backup and recovery processes, preferably leveraging Commvault
• Resolve technical issues by working with developers, business stakeholders, and Oracle support teams

What You’ll Need

Required:

• Experience provisioning and managing Oracle Cloud Database Services, including Autonomous Database, Exadata Database Service, and Base Database Services
• Strong understanding of OCI architecture, including Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Lists, Compartments, and Network Security Groups (NSGs)
• Experience migrating databases to Oracle Cloud using Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), Oracle Data Pump, and/or Oracle GoldenGate
• Hands-on experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using OCI CLI, SDKs, Terraform, or OCI Resource Manager
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database 19c or later
• Experience administering Oracle databases in Windows operating environments
• Knowledge of Oracle RMAN backup and recovery methodologies
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, technical teams, and business stakeholders
• Knowledge of emerging database and cloud technologies

Preferred:

• Experience supporting Human Capital Management (HCM) systems
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate administration and replication management
• Experience using Commvault for Oracle backup and recovery
• Background in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience working with PeopleSoft, SQL, SQR, or JavaScript libraries
