Job summary

High Desert Medical Group is seeking a full-time Coordinator for our HCC Department to support risk adjustment, quality reporting, and financial sustainability through teamwork, integrity, and education.

The role handles outreach, scheduling, data entry in EPY, and communication with patients and staff while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service excellence. Local driving/travel within California is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 Coding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Place a minimum of 50 outgoing calls per day to senior members for scheduling preventative exams.
  • Ensure all Senior Wellness exams are scheduled to capacity.
  • Initiate and answer telephone calls with proper etiquette.
  • Relay issues to supervisor that affect departmental goals.
  • Create charts in EPY for all first-time patients.
  • Confirm appointments by calling patients as needed.
  • Handle non-clinical questions from patients with care and courtesy.
  • Maintain both hard copy and electronic filing systems for audits.

Job description

High Desert Medical Group is seeking a full time Coordinator for our HCC Department. This department strives to be the leading innovator in risk adjustment, quality reporting, and financial sustainability through teamwork, integrity, and education. The HCC Coordinator ensures all outreach is completed in a professional, courteous, and quality manner.

Summary of Duties:
  • Place a minimum of 50 outgoing calls per day to senior members for scheduling preventative exams.
  • Ensure that all Senior Wellness exams are scheduled to capacity.
  • Initiate and answer telephone calls utilizing proper phone etiquette.
  • Advise supervisor of any problems that arise affecting departmental goals.
  • Work in unity with other in group.
  • Take accurate messages and relay to appropriate person as quickly as possible.
  • Promptly removes cancellations from EPM.
  • Create chart in EPY for all first-time patients.
  • Place calls to confirm appointments as needed.
  • Answer patient's non-clinical questions.
  • Demonstrate care, concern, and courtesy when interacting with all internal and external customers.
  • Display a warm and pleasant personality emphasizing tact, empathy, and patience.
  • Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: requesting medical records, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  • Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system for Risk Adjustment Data Validation Audits.
  • Complete and distribute meeting minutes for departmental meetings after supervisor approval.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Local driving/travel

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $23.45-$31.30/hr, non-exempt; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
  • Valid California Driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 Coding.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize tasks in order to meet all given deadlines and productivity goals.
  • Ability to responsibly handle matters of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, high-demand environment.
