Wright Directions Family Services (WDFS) in Barnwell, SC is seeking a Master’s-level Licensed Counselor to join our school-based behavioral health team. This role focuses on providing early intervention, therapeutic support, and advocacy within schools and communities.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in a related counseling field

About Our School‑Based Services

• Increases access to mental health services in a non‑stigmatizing setting
• Provides early intervention and prevention services
• Collaborates with teachers and school staff to advocate for students
• Supports the social, emotional, and behavioral health needs of children and youth

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited program primarily psychological in nature (Counseling, Guidance, Social Work, or related field)
• Clinical license or provisional license in the state of South Carolina
• Minimum of one year of experience working with the population served
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions to youth and families (individual and/or family)
• Monitor progress and effectiveness of interventions outlined in the Individual Plan of Care (IPOC)
• Develop and strengthen coping skills for youth and families
• Provide crisis intervention and intensive case management as needed
• Facilitate appropriate referrals, including substance abuse services when indicated
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
