Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician II to perform remediation tasks, respond to spills, and operate a range of equipment in a safety‑driven environment.

The role requires experience with hazardous and non-hazardous cleanup, adherence to DOT requirements, and the ability to train or guide less experienced team members. A valid Hazmat endorsement and confined space credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and comprehend operational, safety and quality instructions.
• Skilled in using hand and shop tools and instruments.
• Understands chemical hazards and safety data sheets.
• Willing to contribute ideas to improve work practices.
• Adheres to company safety standards and policies.
• Class C driver’s license with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Confined space entry certificate preferred or obtainable after hire.
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Able to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
• Able to position and move objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination and high-pressure washing.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after business hours.
• Operates light and heavy equipment including roll-off truck, vacuum truck, skid steer, forklift.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and maintains vehicle logs.
• Adheres to safety policies and ensures efficient, safe operation.
