Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician I to perform spill cleanup, decontamination and related field tasks. The role works under supervision, applying basic judgment to resolve routine issues and ensures safety policies are followed.

Responsibilities include responding to spills, operating pumps and light towers, and maintaining equipment. A driver’s license is often required and 0–2 years of experience is typical.

Qualifications

• Read, write and comprehend technical instructions.
• Knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets.
• Ability to identify unsafe practices and communicate concerns.
• Proficiency with light tablet/PC use.
• Confined space entry certification preferred or obtainable on hire.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling and decontamination.
• Respond to customer spills and emergencies during and after hours.
• Operate equipment such as pumps, generators, air compressors and light towers.
• Maintain equipment and keep the work site safe and clean.
• Follow safety policies and regulations; perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
