Job summary

Republic Services in Canton, OH seeks a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, operating Class A tractors and a variety of trailers. The role includes 3–4 overnight shifts weekly with weekends largely off and a potential for other shifts based on routes.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain logs, and ensure compliance with DOT hazmat rules while providing safe, courteous service to clients and supporting site safety programs.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training on hire
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical loading/unloading tasks

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs and tankers
• Perform LTL pickups and waste manifests
• Maintain driver documents and reports
• Comply with DOT hazmat regulations, loading, labeling, and placarding
• Follow state weight limit laws and drive safely
• Utilize company mobile apps and tech for job tasks
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Interact professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Support site housekeeping and assist on lab pack/field service projects
• Participate in Site Safety program and trainings
• Perform related duties as assigned
