Job summary

Harcros Chemicals is seeking a DOT Driver Trainer and Compliance professional to lead training and ensure regulatory compliance for commercial HazMat drivers in Kansas City, KS. You will develop programs, materials, and procedures while partnering with Transportation, Risk Management, and HR teams.

The role requires a Class A CDL with HazMat/Tanker endorsements, 5+ years of driving experience, and the ability to travel about 50% to deliver training and maintain compliance across locations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
• Minimum of 5 years verifiable commercial driving experience including HazMat and over-the-road.
• Satisfactory driving record and ability to meet applicable DOT driver qualification requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, Hazardous Materials, Hours of Service, and OSHA requirements.
• Experience using ELDs, telematics, and fleet safety technology.
• Excellent communication, coaching, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read regulations and translate them into practical training.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50%, with additional travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver HazMat driver training per DOT/FMCSA and 49 CFR Part 172.
• Maintain driver training materials and Harcros procedures on inspections, loading/unloading, cargo handling.
• Evaluate driver performance via road tests and ride-alongs; provide coaching as needed.
• Support training related to Hours of Service, ELDs, and fleet safety technology.
• Monitor HOS violations and safety trends to identify training needs.
• Maintain accurate records of driver training, testing, certifications and evaluations.
• Assist with Driver Qualification files in partnership with HR and DQ provider.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and best practices in transportation safety.
