Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems is seeking a Hazmat Regulatory Supervisor to ensure compliant, safe, and efficient shipment of hazardous materials globally. The role serves as the expert on dangerous goods and international logistics compliance, aligning with IATA, DGR, IMDG, 49 CFR, ATF, CTPAT, and export classification standards.

The position oversees carrier contracts, explosive testing oversight, DOT/CBP audits, freight spend analysis, AES filings, and DG documentation while coordinating with freight

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum five years hazmat logistics experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
  • At least one year of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Experience with ATF controlled materials, CTPAT, Incoterms, and HTS/Schedule B is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of global freight forwarding, DG classification, and shipping docs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee negotiation, administration, and performance of carrier contracts for service reliability and cost efficiency.
  • Manage explosive testing activities with authorized labs and submit results to PHMSA for classification/approvals.
  • Lead audits by coordinating cross‑functional teams and responding to regulatory inquiries.
  • Analyze freight spending and develop cost‑control strategies.
  • Oversee export compliance by auditing AES filings for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Validate hazmat classifications, packing instructions, UN numbers, and references.
  • Prepare and approve DG documentation (IATA, IMO/IMDG, invoices, export docs).
  • Coordinate international shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, brokers, and agencies.
  • Monitor regulatory updates (IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR, ATF, export controls) and update SOPs.
  • Provide hazmat and security training to the team.
  • Maintain IATA DGR, IMDG, 49 CFR training certifications.
