Job summary

Maine Oxy in Reading, PA is seeking a CDL Class A driver to deliver helium cylinders to repeat customers. Expect overnight requirements, a fixed route, and home every weekend.

You will be paid hourly with overtime, plus a $3,000+ sign-on bonus and a yearly safety bonus up to $2,000. Included are PTO, 401(k) matching, and medical/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with Hazmat endorsement required.
• At least 1 year of driving experience or recent training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for public interactions.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver helium cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers.
• Load/unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance.
• Build relationships with regular customers and manage inventory needs.

What to expect on the schedule

• Depart Monday morning
• On the road Monday through Thursday/Friday
• Overnights 3 to 4 nights per week, depending on the zone
• Return home on Friday
• Territory is divided into 4 zones, one zone per week, so you cover the same general area all week.
• You stay in a hotel, not a sleeper

What you will do

• Safely deliver helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers
• Load and unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance
• Build relationships with regular customers and help manage their inventory needs

QualificationsWhat you need

• Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
• 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports

The work and the truck

• Brand new trailer and tractor
• Routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs, occasionally 76 to 100+ lbs
• Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling
• Outdoor work in temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees
• Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell
