Job summary

Maine Oxy is hiring a full-time driver to deliver helium gas cylinders to scheduled customers from Elmira, NY. You will routinely load/unload, perform safety inspections, and complete required delivery paperwork in a DOT-compliant manner.

The role requires a Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement, at least 1 year of driving experience or recent training, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Competitive benefits accompany a demanding travel schedule and overnight stays in multiple zones.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers.
• Load and unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and complete DOT paperwork.
• Build relationships with regular customers and help manage inventory needs.

• Salary Range: $32.00 - $33.00 Hourly

What to expect on the schedule

• Depart Monday morning
• On the road Monday through Thursday/Friday
• Overnights 3 to 4 nights per week, depending on the zone
• Return home on Friday
• Territory is divided into 4 zones, one zone per week, so you cover the same general area all week.
• You stay in a hotel, not a sleeper

What you will do

The work and the truck

• Brand new trailer and tractor
• Routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs, occasionally 76 to 100+ lbs
• Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling
• Outdoor work in temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees
• Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell
