Job summary

Maine Oxy is seeking skilled CDL drivers to deliver helium cylinders to established customers from New Jersey through the surrounding region. The role requires Hazmat endorsement and good driving history, with a strong emphasis on safety and DOT compliance.

You will operate a brand-new trailer and tractor, stay in hotels as needed, and be home most weekends. The position offers overtime, a sign‑on bonus, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

What to expect on the schedule

• Depart Monday morning
• On the road Monday through Thursday/Friday
• Overnights 3 to 4 nights per week, depending on the zone
• Return home on Friday
• Territory is divided into 4 zones, one zone per week, so you cover the same general area all week.
• You stay in a hotel, not a sleeper

What you will do

• Safely deliver helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers
• Load and unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance
• Build relationships with regular customers and help manage their inventory needs

Qualifications What you need

• Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
• 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports

The work and the truck

• Brand new trailer and tractor
• Routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs, occasionally 76 to 100+ lbs
• Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling
• Outdoor work in temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees
• Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell
