Job summary

Maine Oxy is seeking a driver to deliver helium cylinders within a dedicated territory. You will be on a weekly schedule with overnights and frequent hotel stays, returning home on weekends.

Compensation includes hourly pay with overtime, a $3,000+ sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The role involves loading/unloading, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining DOT compliance while building relationships with repeat customers.

Qualifications

• CDL with Hazmat endorsement required.
• 1 year of driving experience or driving school training within the past 4 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, read highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver helium compressed gas cylinders to scheduled, repeat customers.
• Load and unload cylinders and return empties to the fill plant.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain DOT compliance.
• Build relationships with regular customers and help manage their inventory needs.

What to expect on the schedule

• Depart Monday morning
• On the road Monday through Thursday/Friday
• Overnights 3 to 4 nights per week, depending on the zone
• Return home on Friday
• Territory is divided into 4 zones, one zone per week, so you cover the same general area all week.
• You stay in a hotel, not a sleeper

What you will do

The work and the truck

• Brand new trailer and tractor
• Routinely lift 25 to 75 lbs, occasionally 76 to 100+ lbs
• Frequent bending, standing, walking, reaching, and handling
• Outdoor work in temperatures from -10 to over 100 degrees
• Ability to detect leaking gas from cylinders by sound or smell
