Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class A trucks across designated generator sites. The role involves operating tractors and various trailers, with occasional straight truck work, typically Monday–Friday with potential 3–4 overnight shifts.

The position requires HazMat/Tanker endorsements, a valid CDL A, and DOT regulatory knowledge. Expect periodic overnight travel and weekends off except for critical needs.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with HazMat and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire date.
• Pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Valid MVR that meets Company policy standards.
• Ability to operate multiple truck types and comply with DOT regulations and weight limits.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, tractor-trailers, box trucks, and other equipment.
• Perform LTL pickups and waste manifests as required.
• Maintain driver documents: logbook, permit book, trip reports, waste manifests, etc.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DOT/MOT).
• Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain good housekeeping at the facility and grounds.
• May function as a technician on lab pack and field service projects.
