The GEL Group, Inc. Charleston, SC is seeking a Hazardous Waste Technician to join the laboratory team. You will handle and package waste generated during analysis of environmental samples, ensuring safe and compliant disposal in a busy production lab.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with related experience; an associate or bachelor’s in science is preferred. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork within GEL’s environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine hazardous waste handling in the lab.
• Collects wastewater, liquids and solids for disposal.
• Segregates hazardous/non-hazardous and radioactive waste per regulations.
• Packages waste for disposal and ensures proper labeling.
• Operates basic lab instrumentation and equipment per SOPs.
• Adheres to safety rules and GEL core values.
• Supports other laboratory tasks as needed.
