Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is hiring a Shipping Clerk at our Montclair, CA facility to coordinate hazardous waste shipments and maintain DOT/EPA records. You will work with operations to ensure compliant, on-time outbound waste management.

Responsibilities include reviewing manifests, entering shipment data, tracking inventory, and preparing paperwork. Qualifications include a HS diploma and 1–3 years in hazardous-waste shipping or warehouse roles, plus Excel/Word proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–3 years of shipping hazardous waste experience preferred.
• 1–3 years of warehouse experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Track and report all variances in real-time.

Responsibilities

• Review outgoing hazardous-waste manifests, bills of lading, shipping papers and waste profiles for accuracy.
• Enter shipment data into the facility tracking system with container and destination details.
• Track shipment dates and holding times to ensure 10-day regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate daily inventory by waste stream, location and status.
• Verify container counts, IDs, weights, descriptions and waste codes against documents.
• Coordinate pickup and delivery with dispatchers, drivers and facilities.
• Prepare outgoing paperwork and driver document packages.
• Document transfers between transporters and obtain required signatures.
