Qualifications
- 1–3 years' experience shipping radioactive and chemical waste as DOT hazardous material.
- Current Advanced Radiological Transportation training or qualification.
- CurrentAdvanced Chemical Transportation or Advanced Mixed Waste training or qualification.
- Knowledge of hazardous-material shipping documentation, packaging, marking, labeling, and placarding requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate shipments of radioactive and chemical waste as DOT hazardous material.
- Review waste profiles, shipping descriptions, classifications, packaging selections, quantities, and supporting records for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and verify shipping papers, manifests, package markings, labels, and placards required for each shipment.
- Inspect packages and shipment configurations before release to confirm compliance with applicable transportation and site requirements.
