Job summary

Ahtna Solutions is seeking a Hazardous Waste Program Operational and Compliance Support professional for the Presidio of Monterey (POM). The role requires knowledge of EPCRA, RCRA, DOT shipping requirements, and waste tracking in a regulatory context.

The incumbent will support the Hazardous Waste Manager in warehouse and field operations, track waste profiles, documents, and inspections while ensuring proper storage and reporting. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience with hazardous materials and waste handling.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety and proper waste storage.
• Experience preparing waste manifest documents.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• OSHA Lead Awareness Training or equivalent.
• DOT hazardous waste shipping knowledge.
• Ability to read safety data sheets (SDS).
• Hazmat training/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to Presidio of Monterey tenants to facilitate hazardous waste disposal.
• Support POM Hazardous Waste Manager in the warehouse and in the field.
• Track incoming waste and create waste profiles.
• Document waste electronically via Army/DoD proprietary tracking software.
• Packing and labeling containers; creating DOT proper shipping names (PSN).
• Ensure waste is stored properly in the warehouse and track holding times.
• Assist in preparing waste for disposal and review related documents.
