Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Material Handler I in Commerce City, Colorado to perform routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks under supervision, moving solids and liquids and assisting with loading and unloading containers. You will operate material handling equipment, help with decontamination, and keep a clean, safe work area while following disposal and paperwork requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 to 6 months prior experience in hazardous waste or chemical industry beneficial.
• Proficiency in handling forklifts and a variety of tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload containers of various sizes.
• Construct boxes/containers as needed and label/load materials.
• Operate a variety of tools including impact wrenches, shovels and jackhammers.
• Transport hazardous waste materials within the facility as directed.
• Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and containers per guidelines.
• Assist with paperwork for processing and transportation of materials.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Inspect material handling equipment as directed.
