Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks an experienced incineration operator responsible for operating, monitoring, and starting up chemical waste incineration and auxiliary equipment at a power plant. You will ensure safe, efficient incineration processes in line with permits and regulations.

Key duties include adjusting control panels, directing field personnel during emergencies, maintaining logs, and adhering to burn plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in hazardous waste or control room power plant operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, start up and shut down the chemical waste incineration and related equipment.
• Adjust control panels to maintain permit parameters and ensure proper operation.
• Direct field personnel to correct emergencies and respond to alarms.
• Maintain logs and ensure burn plan data meets regulatory requirements.
• Assist in maintenance and keep a clean, safe work area.
