Job summary

Veolia North America offers a Specialty Feed Operator I role focused on processing specialty feed streams, ensuring safe operation, and coordinating with maintenance teams. The job requires at least a high school diploma and HAZWOPER certification, with experience in process operations and heavy equipment preferred.

The position entails strict safety practices and equipment handling within a plant environment.

Qualifications

• Must pass a respirator fit test.
• Ability to pass a verbal and/or written skill/proficiency test during orientation/training.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good math aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Process specialty feed streams by injecting into the kiln and SCC.
• Assist mechanical and outside contractors with maintenance, repairs, or calibration and issue related permits (Safe Work, HotWork, Line Break, Confined Space).
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out on specialty feed equipment before repairs.
• Troubleshoot, flush, unplug, clean, repair, and swap feed lines, pumps, nozzles, vent fans, flame arrestors and boxes.
• Prepare equipment for start-up/shutdown and verify chemical compatibility using WIP or reference materials.
• Utilize nitrogen for purging and line clearing; handle diesel and toluene for flushing; maintain inventories.
