Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a hazardous waste incineration operator for a power plant in Arkansas. You will operate, monitor, start up and shut down the chemical waste incineration systems and related equipment to ensure safe, compliant disposal of waste according to permits and procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred associate degree in environmental skills and 5 years of hazardous waste or power plant experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree preferred with emphasis in environmental skills.
• 5 years’ prior work experience in hazardous waste or control room power plant operation.

Responsibilities

• Make control panel adjustments to maintain permit parameters and ensure equipment operates per standard conditions.
• Direct field personnel to correct emergencies by responding to alarms while maintaining normal operations.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and ensure burn plan data meets regulatory requirements.
• Follow daily burn plans and report discrepancies affecting efficiency.
• Note maintenance needs and assist in maintenance activities.
