Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment facility or landfill.

The role supports unloading waste, stabilizing materials, sampling post-treatment products, and transporting processed materials to disposal sites. The position requires at least 1 year of related experience and the ability to obtain or already hold a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

Qualifications

• 1+ years related experience.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER (with 8-hour refresher) or ability to pass course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and off-load waste.
• Operate equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
• Process treatment of materials and containers.
• Sample post-treated materials for testing by laboratory.
• Load cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to landfill or disposal.
• Perform general preventative maintenance to equipment and housekeeping.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
