Job summary

Clean Harbors in Jeffersonville, OH is seeking an Environmental General Laborer (1st shift) to join our safety-conscious team. This role will perform hazardous waste cleanup, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials at customer sites in Jeffersonville, OH.

The position follows a Pitman Schedule (2 days on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off) with 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm) and every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete a background check, drug test and physical, by position.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Unload containerized waste from route trucks.
• Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs.
• Ensure waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition for transport to recycle or distribution centers.
• Stock the warehouse with received materials.
• Prepare waste loads for shipment.
• Housekeeping in the branch (painting, trash pickup, sweeping, cleaning).
• Perform minor repairs on parts washers at the warehouse.
• Observe third party bulk liquid transfers.
• Assist with inventory counts at warehouse.
• Follow all local, state, and federal regulations and company guidelines.
