Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services in Tacoma is seeking an Environmental Technician to consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with policies and procedures. You will maintain detailed records and support facility services.

Responsibilities include cleaning operations, wastewater treatment and accurate documentation. The role requires occasional night/weekend shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials.
• High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
• Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Responsibilities

• Industrial cleaning/Pressure washing, Wastewater treatment, Spill response, facility services
• Complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices and procedures.
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
