Job summary

MPS Group, Inc is seeking an Environmental Technician to join the team at the GM Factory Zero Complex in Detroit, MI. The role focuses on handling solid and hazardous waste and ensuring EPA-compliant procedures are followed.

Typical duties include waste collection, segregation for off-site shipment, loading for transport to disposal sites, and routine inspections of equipment and waste storage areas. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of waste management

Qualifications

Minimum of one year experience in waste management.
Ability to pass a background check.
Ability to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

Collect trash, recyclables, hazardous waste, scrap metal, and other waste streams throughout the plant and transport them to disposal containers or storage rooms.
Segregate, sort, and package waste streams for off-site shipment in accordance with EPA requirements.
Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfills, recycling centers, and other disposal sites.
Perform and document daily equipment inspections prior to use.
Maintain clean, organized waste storage areas and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
Document and inform the Resource Manager of any contamination in recycling and waste containers.
