Veolia in North America is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to perform routine analyses and screening of organic and inorganic substances to determine the makeup of hazardous waste and stabilization according to QA/QC procedures. Maintains the laboratory and equipment in compliance with regulatory and site specifications.

Primary duties include fingerprint screens, sampling bulk loads, preparing approvals for disposal, maintaining analytical logs, and reporting QA/QC data.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related discipline required.
• 1 to 3 years experience in the hazardous waste industry or related work preferred.
• Typing speed minimum of 30wpm.
• Good knowledge of computer programs.

Responsabilidades

• Performs fingerprint screens and other wet and organic chemistry methodologies to determine the nature of hazardous substances.
• Samples incoming bulk loads to establish the contents and determine packaging and disposal.
• Assists with approval paperwork to ensure accuracy and efficiency in disposal of hazardous waste materials.
• Maintains analytical equipment and documents in accordance with QA/QC compliance.
• Gathers paperwork for management approvals and notifies staff of incomplete sections.
• Audits analytical logs to ensure regulatory compliance for completeness and accuracy.
• Performs other laboratory analyses as requested.
• Complies with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies in disposal of hazardous waste materials.
