Job summary

North Wind Services is seeking an Environmental Technician to support LLNL in Livermore, CA. You will collect, package, label, identify, and document hazardous and radioactive waste, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires associates degree in environmental science or related field, strong recordkeeping, and the ability to work with various waste streams and PPE. This is an on-site position with potential overtime and training requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in environmental science or related field.
• Familiarity with hazardous/radioactive waste processes preferred.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform waste management activities including packaging, labeling, and storage of hazardous and radioactive waste.
• Operate wastewater retention systems and perform lab packing of waste chemicals.
• Conduct testing and sampling to verify characterization and treatment results.
• Operate vehicles up to 5-ton, move materials with handling equipment, and use tools.
• Provide on-site customer service to LLNL waste generators and maintain records.
