Job summary
Clemson University is seeking a qualified professional to assist the Hazardous Materials/Environmental Compliance Manager in developing and implementing the Hazardous Materials Program for Clemson facilities in Clemson, SC. The role covers regulatory oversight of hazardous waste, transportation, and related compliance with RCRA, SCHWMR, TSCA, CWA, CAA, and DOT regulations.
Responsibilities include assisting with waste pickups from 600+ satellite areas, maintaining the Hazardous Waste database,
Qualifications
- High school diploma and experience in environmental health programs or radiological health.
- Bachelor's degree in natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or related field may substitute for required experience.
Responsibilities
- Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations.
- Not responsible for supervising employees.
- No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
- Assists with hazardous and bio-hazardous waste pickups and data entry for Clemson University facilities; maintains the Hazardous Waste Management Central Accumulation Area (HWM-CAA) and conducts inspections.
