Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking an Environmental Technician to support hazardous materials handling and waste management at our Kent, WA site. You will segregate, package, and move hazardous materials, and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulations and customer policies.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package and expect 2+ years of experience, a HS Diploma or GED, and the ability to operate forklift and pallet jack. Safety PPE and outdoor/indoor work are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials.
• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
• Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Responsibilities

• Segregate and package material for transport.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and storage of hazardous materials.
• Operate fork trucks and other mobile equipment to move containers to and from storage and treatment areas and to load/unload trailers.
• Complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices and procedures.
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
