Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Hazardous Materials Handler to join our EHS team in Torrance, CA. You will ensure safe handling of regulated wastes and support occupational safety and industrial hygiene initiatives to keep high-precision manufacturing running smoothly.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to RCRA and 29 CFR 1910, and ability to operate safety equipment. Mon-Fri, 8am-5:30pm, in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• At least 1 year of experience handling, packaging, and shipping regulated wastes.
• Experience with chemical segregation (flammables, corrosives, reactive materials).
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Ability to wear PPE including respirators, FR uniform, and safety toe shoes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure EHS requirements are met.
• Clear documentation of environmental compliance data and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of RCRA 40 CFR and OSHA 29 CFR 1910 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Regulated waste handling from cradle to grave per federal, state, and local requirements.
• Conduct safety inspections and interventions per regulations.
• Implement industrial hygiene measures such as chemical exposure monitoring and respirator programs.
