Job summary

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy is seeking a Field Inspector to manage field and office duties related to hazardous material spills and cleanup responses in MA and nearby states. You will supervise field crews, report to the Licensed Site Professional (LSP), and ensure closure under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan.

Groundwater/soil sampling and regulatory reporting are part of the role. The position requires 40 Hour HAZWOPER and/or MA Wastewater Operator License (Grade 2+) as a plus, with

Qualifications

• Hazardous materials field oversight experience preferred.
• Regulatory reporting and documentation skills required.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field crews during cleanup operations.
• Document spills and cleanup activities for LSP submission.
• Prepare regulatory reports, waste shipping docs, and project billing.
• Interact with first responders, subcontractors, customers and regulators.
