Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Hazardous Material Technician I to support the CleanPack and Treatment and Disposal business. The role is based on site and requires adherence to health and safety standards while handling waste streams and performing related tasks.

The position offers full-time hours with comprehensive benefits and potential for growth within a leading environmental services company. Located at 600 Crossroads Boulevard, this role involves compliance with DOT and regulatory

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow directions across tasks.
  • Ability to interface with customers and work on site safely.
  • Able to perform physical functions as required by the role.
  • Must pass background check, drug test, and medical/physical evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety and follow all policies and procedures.
  • Package waste properly to maximize efficiency and compliance.
  • Keep work area neat and orderly and maintain equipment.
  • Assist in spill response on customer sites as needed.
  • Attend safety/compliance meetings and training sessions.
  • Inspect drums for integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Operate forklift safely and load/unload waste vehicles.
  • Conduct waste sampling and profiling as required.
  • Follow DOT, state and federal regulations and company guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Ensure work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner
  • Participate in spill response on customer's site as needed
  • Attend all compliance and safety update meetings
  • Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Operate forklift in a safe manner
  • Safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Attention to detail, able to take and follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to interface with customers
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's license
